Engineer in agroecology on the Saint Laurent de la Prée research farm – French Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA)
Daphné Durant is an engineer in agroecology. After a PhD in Ecology (on the relationships between wintering birds populations and cattle grazing in marshes), she joined the Saint-Laurent de la Prée research farm in 2004. She has a good knowledge and experience in ways of managing marshes, and in particular wet grasslands, to favor biodiversity. Since 2009, she holds the position of manager of the system-experiment called Transi’marsh, which consists in implementing an agroecological transition to a mixed crop-livestock farming system in marshes. The farm has been managed under organic farming since 2017. Daphné is particularly involved in the environmental aspects of this project, and in particular how to reconcile agricultural practices and conservation of biodiversity.
