The Global Farm Platform held a workshop at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), from 31st July – 2nd August 2023, in Nairobi, Kenya. The sessions focused on providing solutions for the seasonal feed gap where forage conservation techniques need to be developed to support and improve a value chain which will provide real solutions and opportunities for subsistence farmers across Africa.

The event saw academics from Africa, UK, Canada, India, and China with a diverse array of expertise, representing a wide variety of countries, come together to tackle this issue. The workshop was successful in identifying several further steps to be made, in particularly through the drafting of paper and grant concepts.
