The Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Sciences (FoAFCS) is at Nyankpala Campus in the Tolon District in the Northern Region of Ghana. It’s about 15 kilometres west of Tamale, on the Tamale-Tolon road. It is the university’s premier faculty, having begun in 1993 as the Faculty of Agriculture. The faculty’s mandate, like all programmes run in the University, is to combine academic work with field practical in order to achieve sustainable agri-food systems in Ghana. The faculty currently offers two-year diploma, four-year BSc/B. Ed, and postgraduate degree programs in Agricultural Technology, Agribusiness, Agricultural Science Education, Family and Consumer Science, and Food Science and Technology.

Our mission: the mission of the faculty is to create and maintain an enabling environment to produce competent professionals in agriculture and related programmes who would understand the strategic role of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Sciences in the development of Ghana and who can model and promote the best practices and sound values of Education in these areas.
Our vision: to become an internationally recognized Centre of Excellence for cutting edge research, teaching, management and offering demand-driven and innovative training programmes in agriculture, food and consumer sciences for career advancement in northern Ghana and beyond.
