Research Chair Professor in Animal Functional Genomics and Microbiome

Leluo Guan is currently a Tier I Canada Research Chair Professor in Animal Functional Genomics and Microbiome in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. She has over 30 years of experience in the area of functional genomics, molecular biology and microbial ecology. Dr. Guan’s research program focuses on the understanding of host-microbiome interactions and their contributions to physiology and metabolism of cattle that influence feed efficiency, methane emission, health and welfare traits. The goal of Dr. Guan’s research program is to develop innovative solutions to improve the sustainability and competitiveness of the cattle (dairy and beef) industry.
